About Us

Charter Schools Tucson Trusts!

To separate our charter school from traditional education we focus on what high school students want; a small, friendly environment that puts an emphasis on personalized needs. Because of that, all of our teachers are caring guides who work with your kids’ students on an individualized basis, in engaging classrooms, to help them meet and exceed all of their goals.

About

History

Rose Academies began with our founders Catherine and Eugene Kinghorn. Driven by the belief in the potential of every student and their passion for innovative education, the Kinghorns set out to create a new kind of high school—one that would offer personalized learning and foster a learning community in which students could learn at their own pace.

Starting in August 1999, the Rose Academies offered smaller class sizes, allowing for more personalized attention from teachers. Our curriculum integrated project-based learning, where students could explore subjects through hands-on projects and real-world applications. Over the past 25 years, the Rose Academies have left an indelible mark on Southern Arizona’s educational landscape. Thousands of graduates have gone on to successful careers, higher education, and meaningful contributions to their communities. The Rose Academies’ commitment to fostering individual potential has remained unwavering, continually adapting to provide high-quality, inclusive, and forward-thinking education. Today, we continue to be a pillar in the community for students who thought they may not graduate from high school. We are proud to be a tuition-free, charter school option for high school students across southern Arizona.

Our Mission

The Rose Academies, as alternative high schools providing credit recovery for students in poor academic standing, will “Honor the Promise of Education” by

  • Training students in the fundamental skills needed to graduate high school, transition into continuing education or college, and explore career choices
  • Expanding how students learn how to think.
  • Creating life options/opportunities for each graduate.
