Can I go Back to High School After Dropping Out?
It’s never too late to finish high school. Earning your diploma is often the first step towards a successful future and there might be more options for getting there than you think! If you’re 21 years old or younger, you can go back to high school, in-person, and walk across the stage at graduation to receive your diploma – even if you work a full time job!
Many students can find getting there GED to be discouraging. It is often a self-taught program, putting the responsibility entirely on the individual to study, sign up for, pay for, and take the exam. There is a $40 fee for each section of the exam, totalling $160 and the student is required to pay the fee each time they need to retake the exam.
There is often a lack of support for the student through the GED process, and they may feel as though they didn’t “really” finish high school. It’s more challenging to be admitted to college with a GED rather than a high school diploma, and many job prospects may look down on it as well.
However, there are alternatives to the GED even if you’ve dropped out of high school in the past. Students at the Rose Academies benefit from our credit recovery program and flexible scheduling to earn their high school diploma and graduate with the credentials they need for the futures they want, all at no cost.
At the Rose Academies, we offer a personalized curriculum that is self-paced, but not self-taught. Our credit recovery program allows you to take only the classes you need for graduation with the support of understanding teachers all along the way.
Do you have a full time job but still want to go back to school? The Rose Academies can help there too. Maintain your working hours and attend whichever five hour session works best for your schedule: the AM session from 7-12, the afternoon session from 12-5, or the evening session from 5-10pm (Canyon East & Desert Evening Hours are 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm).
